HOUSINGAGAIN-L Housing Again- Where's Home update

It's finally here!

The Where's Home? 2000 Update on average rents and vacancy rates for
Ontario and 21 cities and regions in the province is now available on
the Housing Again web-site. The analysis of CMHC rental market data
paints a stark picture of the deteriorating situation for tenants in
Ontario.

New this year is an analysis of CMHC data on the size of the rental
supply across the province and in each of the 21 municipalities. The
2000 update notes that even though new rental units were built last
year, the size of the total rental supply actually shrunk.

The release of the information is timely, given the upcoming Federal,
Provincial and Territorial Housing Ministers' Conference. The
Ministers will be meeting in London on August 15 and 16.

To look at it go to http://housingagain.web.net There is a link from the
front page to the report. You will need Adobe Acrobat to view the report.

There is also a press release with a summary of the statistics in
Housing Again Alerts.
