Summer Employment
Meduxnekeag River Association will be hiring two students for 12-16 weeks in the 2008 summer season, beginning in early May and continuing until mid-to-late August. These positions are focused on two specific areas of activity: 1) carrying out a breeding bird survey in the Meduxnekeag watershed; 2) promoting and guiding small group public nature walks on the trails of the Meduxnekeag Valley Nature Preserves. Additional tasks may be assigned depending on availability and need. Most of the work will be outdoors.

The Breeding Bird Survey is being carried out as part of the research for the Maritime Breeding Bird Atlas (for further information on the overall process, see: www.mba-aom.ca ) and occurs primarily in May and June. It requires some knowledge and interest in birds (training and survey materials will be provided). |
 |
Nature Walks may occur throughout the summer, and have an intended participant-audience concentrated on but not limited to visitors to the area. We anticipate a heavier demand in prime tourist season. Training and background materials will be provided. |
Applicants must qualify for New Brunswick’s SEED program.
If you are interested in one of these positions, please apply now to: George Peabody, Administrator, Meduxnekeag River Association at meduxnekeag@nb.aibn.com
