    Last year the OHC obtained a legal opinion on the Copeman clinic which found the proposed Ontario clinic to be in contravention of the law.

  • HEALTH ACTION ASSEMBLY
    The 2008 Ontario Health Coalition Health Action Assembly will occur on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Walmer Road Church (near Bloor and Spadina) in Toronto. The Assembly is where the OHC sets our priorities and action plan for the year and also features guest speakers and briefings on health care issues and organizing. Don’t miss it!     As patients move into the brand new public Peterborough Hospital on Sunday June 8th a new Ontario Health Coalition report shows that it was completed at a fraction of the cost of the Private-Public Partnership (P3) Brampton William Osler Hospital and the P3 North Bay General Hospital. The report, “Cost Comparison Analysis of P3 Projects Versus Public Hospital” raises serious questions about the extraordinary cost of the privatized P3 hospitals.

  • INSUFFICIENT CARE LEVELS, VIOLENCE AND INCREASING NEED IN ONTARIO NURSING HOMES: OHC REPORT
    Using interviews, research and government statistics, a new report from the OHC, “Violence, Insufficient Care and Downloading of Heavy Care Patients: An evaluation of increasing need and inadequate standards in Ontario’s nursing homes” reveals that patients with increasingly complex and heavy care needs are being downloaded into long term care homes, causing an increase in violence, accident and injury.
