Canada World Youth is a national, non-governmental organization that provides young people from Canada and around the world with the opportunity to travel, live and work in different communities, to learn about local and international development, and to gain important job skills for the future.

Canada World Youth envisions a world of active, engaged global citizens who share responsibility for the well-being of all people and the planet.

Canada World Youth's mission is to increase the ability of people, and especially youth, to participate actively in the development of just, harmonious and sustainable societies.

To date, more than 26,000 young people from Canada and abroad have participated in Canada World Youth; approximately 1,000 young people participate annually (of whom more than 600 are Canadians).

Canada World Youth programs operate in Canada and countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Central and Eastern Europe. Canada World Youth offers five different programs. The largest are the Youth Exchange and the Central and Eastern Europe programs, during which participants spend half the time in a Canadian community and the other half overseas.
