Video Conference for Hope
Amazing things can happen when you
combine innovative technology, creativity, and passion
for justice. This is what the Video Conference for Hope
has managed to do in just its second year.
So what is a Video Conference
for Hope anyways?
Video conference technology allows
communication to happen in real time with two or more
people at different locations via video. This technology
will be utilized by 50 schools in Alberta, United States,
Australia and beyond to raise awareness and funds for
education in Nicaragua.
Participating schools fundraise throughout April and
March and then, on April 30th, partake in a 24 hour
marathon of educational activities focused on the state
of education and poverty in Nicaragua. The Video Conference
for Hope will be live during the first 12 hours of the
'marathon'. It will include a number of 30 minute segments
including live segments from Change for Children partner
FUNARTE in Esteli! The money raised will support the
construction of a primary school in Esteli. Hundreds
of youth, incredible international partners - you cannot
help but be inspired. Thank you to Terry Godwaldt and
all Queen Elizabeth High School in Edmonton, AB who
are the founders of this project.
If your school wants to participate
or you want to support this project please contact fiona@changeforchildren.org.
