- The
Creative-Radio e-mail List and Archives - Creative-Radio is a forum
for people active in or interested in the use of radio in development,
in particular promoting public health, improved education, protection
of the environment, improved livelihoods, good governance and conflict
mitigation. Since it started in 1996, Creative-Radio has been in the
forefront of radio’s resurgence as a tool for social change and
peace-building, and it helps promote best practice in these areas. See

Human Rights (JHR) Journalistes pour les Droits Humains (JDH) -
This is the e-mail list and archives for Journalists
for Human Rights (JHR) Journalistes pour les Droits Humains (JDH)
which is a non-profit charity registered in Canada dedicated to raising
general awareness of human rights issues in Africa by providing African
journalists with the tools to report accurately and concretely about
human rights issues. JHR¹s aim is to establish a number of
programs, training seminars and newspaper supplements, increasing both
the quality and quantity of human rights reporting. JHR's programs will
begin in West Africa (specifically Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire) JHR's
mailing list allows members to discuss issues related to human rights
and the media in Africa. Members will also be informed of JHR's

- The Haa-Ai
(Inuktitut for "Look at this") e-mail list and archives - This now
defunct e-mail list (ISBN 1-55325-004-4) was for resources and
information found on the net of interest to teachers, students other
people living in Nunavut. It is owned managed by Education Nunavut, the
Territorial Department of Education for Nunavut. Subscribers were
encouraged to post any resources that may have been of interest and to
pass along / forward postings to other interested folks.. There
are 13,596 postings in the archives (as of April 12, 2004). I moderated
this list for Education Nunavut when I worked there from 1999 to 2004.
Still a very interesting database of information about Inuit culture,
education and Circumpolar issues. See the
statistics for researchers interested in Nunavut here. This list is
no longer active and I have moved my interests in this area to the .....

- Circumpolar e-mail list and public archives - Started when
I left Education Nunavut in January of 2004... follows much the same
interests as Haa Ai
did, but is current.

Cap Sites' e-mail list and public archives - An e-mail list for the
folks interested in and running CAP (Community Access Program) sites
that provide free internet access to the public across Canada's newest
territory, Nunavut, the home of Canada's Inuit .

Employees Union e-mail list and public archives - A communications
medium for the members of the Nunavut Employees Union. The Nunavut
Employees Union represents the interests of the employees of the
Government of Nunavut, the Power Corporation of Nunavut who live in
Nunavut, Workers Compensation Board in Nunavut, Nunavut
Housing Corporation, and the unionized employees of Nunavut
municipalities and Housing Associations. Most members work for the
Government of Nunavut and live all across the territory. Others belong
to Canada Labour Code bargaining units representing Housing
Associations and Authorities, Hamlet and town employees, and support
staff in schools. NEU members are social workers and nurses, health
care professionals, power plant workers, security guards, hamlet bylaw
officers, renewable resource officers, engineers, and many more.

Stories - The youth at a storytelling conference held in Iqaluit, Nunavut designed
project ideas to help to prevent suicide in their communties. This
e-mail list is meant to be a place where these youth can share
their project ideas with each other. It is a place where they can
exchange ideas and help each other. It is a place where they can
connect. It is a place for them!
