15% - amount of funding increase given to profit-seeking long term care corporations by the province. Non-profits saw funding decline.
$20 million - amount the Canadian government paid in damages to Ethyl Corporation after the company sued the government under NAFTA for banning MMT - a controversial gasoline additive suspected of having neurotoxic properties. The government also withdrew the ban.
1897 - date the VON was founded. The company has recently gone public with fears of going out of business, in part due to privatization of homecare in Ontario.
