HEALTH ACTION ASSEMBLY & TEACH-IN

At the Premiers' Conference on Health Care
Wednesday, July 28,  10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Addison Hall,  St. Mark's Anglican Church
41 Byron Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake

Premiers from all the provinces and territories are meeting in Niagara-on-the-Lake on July 28 to develop a strategy for the upcoming First Ministers' Conference on healthcare.  Prime Minister Paul Martin has said that he plans for these negotiations to end in a 10-year plan for Canada's Medicare system.

Assemble in Niagara-on-the-Lake and let the Premiers know that Canadians - who pay for and need Medicare - are vigilantly observing this conference and its result.  The Premiers need to know that the citizens of this country want Medicare protected and kept in public hands.

We need to be there.  Concerned Canadians are invited to take part to support Medicare.  The day's events will include:

*  a strategic plenary;

* sharing of information and strategies from across the province and country;

* teach-in events; and

* a public demonstration of support for protecting our public health system as the premiers arrive for their first engagement.
