Spring 2009

Annual Spring Fling at Todmorden Mills
Todmorden Mills, 67 Pottery Road
The 12th Annual FODE Spring Fling
Kick off our season with our regular clean-up operation Todmorden Mills, followed by a free organic BBQ and interpretive walk of the Wildflower Preserve. In partnership with the Todmorden Wildflower Preserve.
By Transit: Take the Broadview 8, Mortimer 62 or Cosburn 87 from Broadview Station to the corner of Broadview and Pottery Rd (also Mortimer). Walk down the paved trail on the south/west side of Pottery Road. Todmorden Mills is at the bottom.
Parking (on-site at the end of the driveway), FREE

The event was another success. About 50 people collected over 100 bags of garbage. Click here to see some pictures of the event.

Sunday May 3, 10AM - 12 Noon
Taylor Creek – The Forks - Tree Planting
Meet at the Taylor Creek Park Parking lot located
Just off Don Mills Rd., east side, north of O’Connor Drive
FODE began work in this area in 2007, join us as we fill in and expand a wet meadow forest.
Parking on-site is free. Valley access for cyclists/walkers and transit users via the valley trail or the stairs from Cullen Bryant Park (turn left at the bottom).

Saturday May 9, 10AM - 12 Noon
Taylor Creek Tree Planting at Halsey
Work with Friends of the Don East to improve an existing natural area in  Taylor Creek Park, along the north bank of the creek. We will meet at the main (west) Dawes Road parking lot
For Taylor Creek Park.  Transit access via Dawes 23 from Main Station. Walk down to the parking lot.  That’s our meeting point!
