Conference Programme
Conference Theme: The Husita 8 conference will explore the myriad
ways that information technology (IT) connects people and provides functionality for a
range of human needs, exploring the digital divide, accessibility and ethical issues.
We identify the two themes of connecting people with services and information, and
protecting people, (e.g., ethics, bill of rights, abuse issues, and more).
The impact of technology will be explored from the perspective of a range of
diversity dimensions such as gender, race, age, physical or mental ability, gender
identity, sexual orientation, religion/faith, family status, language ability,
literacy, socio-economic status, immigration/refugee status and country of origin.
An emphasis on how technology can address diversity at an organizational level will
be encouraged including human resources, planning, budgeting, research, ethics,
training, clinical practice, strategic planning, health promotion, marketing and
communication.
Keynote and Plenary Sessions: A team of distinguished speakers will
be invited to share their experience on a range of important topics.
