Descendants of Timothy Collins
Timothy Collins (1791-1873) came to Canada from Timoleague, County Cork, Ireland, in or around 1828. It is very likely that he found employment at that time on the building of the Rideau Canal. In 1831, he settled into farming at Black Rapids on the Gloucester Township side of the Rideau. He came to Canada with his brother Patrick (1785-1867) who settled beside him at Black Rapids.
The family tree information on this site covers only the three oldest Collins generations for which we have information. We have limited the coverage for space reasons and so that no information is made available on the web for individuals still alive. Our private computer database covers seven Collins generations (over 3,000 people). We make our 'best efforts' to answer requests for information based on this data.
