We all know
the feeling of casual hunger, when you'd like something to eat and it's an hour until your next meal.
Food banks are there for those difficult times when there's no food at home and it's days or weeks until your next cheque. The London Food Bank has been helping people since 1986. Last year each month we helped more than 2,500 families. Of the $2 million worth of food we distributed, more than a third (41%) went to feed children and youth. This Web site will help you learn about hunger and poverty, about generosity and contributing to your community -- all elements of our work. 83,730 pounds of food collected! Thank you, London, for your generosity in 2009! |
