The Cork
I love to
cork.
It's certainly one of
the most important things I
learned
at Critical Mass. It's okay
to cork. It's okay to stand up
for
yourself and other cyclists.
Even drivers get it. Anyone
can do
it. It just takes a bit of guts.
So when I rode along Dundas West the
other day near
Trinity Bellwoods
Park, I could not help myself.
Nancy
SL was standing on the south side with her bike
not able to get past the endless
string of cars during rush
hour.
Seeing this injustice I sped up and took the lane.
Just before I got to Nancy, I put
up my hand and corked
the fuckers*.
Then with a big grin I turned to Nancy and
waved her across. She smiled amused
and crossed
over to Crawford. I
kept going laughing.
How do I get
away with that?
Courage, a teacher
in high school used to tell me.
