Went on a ride last year where one of the marshalls
berated cyclists for riding in a crosswalk between two
section of an off-road trail.
"Are you cyclists or pedestrians?"

This, despite the fact that the municipality had
passed a by-law permitting cyclists to ride in the
crosswalks in these circumstances, and had even
created extra-large turn-around zones for cyclists on
the sidewalks at these points.

Because of this, some of the people on the ride
discussed turning back and perhaps actually having fun
elsewhere that day. While none did turn back, some
did not bother going on the ride again this year.

Can-Bike fanatics are a weird group. Anyone who
quoted as frequently from the Holy Bible or the Koran
as these people do from Effective Cycling would be
dismissed by most of society as crackpots. Feh!
