Bike Lane Review - Beverly Street

Introduced in 1993, this busy Bike Lane runs the entire length of Beverley from College to Queen.
It is a major conduit for bicycles heading into the downtown core. It is also widely used by students
of U of T and OCAD and cycling commuters heading to work at city hall or further east. It runs along the edge of Chinatown and is likely the best alternative south route to Spadina Avenue in the area.

Bike Lane Review - Fort York Boulevard

Opened late summer 2002. City said: "The new roadway under construction
just south of Fort York will provide a new bicycle connection to the
Waterfront Martin Goodman Trail. The new road will include bicycle lanes
in both directions between Bathurst and Lake Shore Blvd, a new signalized
crossing of Lake Shore for pedestrians and cyclists, and a new trail on
the south side connecting to the Waterfront Trail."

Bike Lane Review - College Street

The College Bike Lane (opened 1993) extends from Manning to just before Bay St.
It was redesigned later in 1995 after some businesses complained about having
a bike lane in front of their doors. It is a high traffic lane especially during rush hour
(close to 200 riders/hr). This Bike Lane represents a major cycling artery for commuters
into downtown. UofT/OCAD students and others heading to attractions like Chinatown,
Kensington Market and Little Italy use this bike lane.
