Black out
Aug. 14, 5:30PM Bloor and Robert St's.
August 14th 5:30PM
So many people walking, some car pooling but
not many. Never seen so many people walking on Bloor.
I get out my camera and take a
couple of shots.
The only ones calmly going about their trip home
from work and half-smiling are the cyclists.
Those walking and driving look like their being
punished by heat and distance. Then I began to
see more and more friends of mine.
Everyone was in such a happy mood. Like being liberated
from something but not quite from what.
Later that night I rode down Yonge street in the dark
with a friend. No lights. Crazy I know.
"Good night for a bike ride."
I said to a fellow cyclist just south of Bloor.
"Yeah.", he replied, "too bad this has to end."
