Three Things You Should Know Before
You Email Norah
1. Although Norah's name appears on many books, her family prefers that she not write about them or talk about them. In fact, they have made her promise not to mention them by name or to use them as characters in her books. Norah loves her family and does not want them to be mad at her. So please don't ask about her family. It's not that she doesn't want to answer. But she promised, and a promise is a promise.
2. Norah is happy to answer all kinds of questions (except questions about her family) and to be as helpful as possible to students who are doing book reports and author studies. But it's not always possible to answer questions immediately. So if you have a homework assignment and need some information that is not on this website, try not to leave it to the last minute.
3. Norah is very bad at answering questions about the theme of her books. She rarely thinks about things like themes. She leaves this to teachers. For students doing homework assignments that include questions about themes, here are two suggestions. One, after reading the book, decide what you think the theme is. Or, two, use the handy all-purpose theme that Norah always uses if she ever finds herself forced to think about themes: Crime doesn't pay.
