OCSCO's 2006 Annual Report
-
The Dan Benedict Award for exceptional contributions
to social justice was presented this year at our AGM
on November 8th, 2006 to Bill Fuller of Hamilton,
Ontario. Bill retired in 1987 from The United
Steelworkers in Canada with 30 years of service. He
has been active in his community all of his adult
life. He has served as a Board Member or Chair of
many committees including former co-chair of OCSCO.
He was named Citizen of the Year for Hamilton in
1990. Bill has worked diligently for the past 2 ½
securing income tax refunds and credits in excess of
$7 million for disabled individuals. Some credits
went back as far as 10 years with seminars and
assistance from OCSCO at no cost or fee from the
disabled recipients.

OCSCO Multicultural Program on
Safety
OCSCO had over 200 seniors show up at the Native
Canadian Centre to hear speakers Patricia
Fleischmann and Jack Pinkus discuss topics of
interest including senior's abuse, prevention and
how the legal system works to protect the elderly,
and on drug safety.
