Ontario's On the Move to Save Medicare!
Algoma Gears Up to Save Medicare
Approximately 40 activists from Sault Ste. Marie and area joined together for a productive plenary for the local campaign. Participants formed a steering committee and set an outreach plan to build the campaign.
Burlington United to Save Medicare
Approximately 30 activists and representatives of Burlington-area organizations met to plan their local campaign to save Medicare. Planning got off to a strong start. In the words of one participant, the evening was an "inspiring success"! Hamilton Off & Running: Save Medicare!
Over 60 people representing community organizations and concerned citizens gathered at the central library in Hamilton for an enthusiastic kick-off and planning session for the Hamilton campaign. A campaign office is in the works and locals are ready to go.
Kingston: We'll Reach Every Household
Almost 100 representatives of local organizations converged in the Kingston Public Library for the plenary meeting of the Kingston campaign. Organized by the Kingston Health Coalition, the event was energetic and motivating. Representatives from over 50 community organizations overwhelmingly supported the Ontario Health Coalition Action Plan and set a target of reaching every household in Kingston.

In a moving meeting, participants talked passionately about the birth of Medicare and how we need to save it. The campaign kicked-off with a lively brainstorming session.
Chatham, Guelph & London Join Campaign to Save Medicare
Seasoned activists joined concerned community members in meetings and plenaries for the campaign to save Medicare across Southwestern Ontario over the last week. In Chatham, Guelph and London, meetings were held to set local steering committees. Dates have been set for upcoming plenaries in each of the centres. Communities Across Ontario Sign On -- dates set in Brampton, Lindsay, St. Catharines, Sudbury
Every day, more communities are joining the cross-province door-to-door campaign to Save Medicare. Dates for kick off meetings are set for Brampton, Lindsay, St. Catharines and Sudbury bringing the new total to twenty cities. Look for upcoming meetings to be set in Kitchener, Niagara, Thunder Bay and others soon!
