AGM 2001: A Taste of Montreal
A Sunday Afternoon Art Escape
by Deborah Schoen
Looking for that special souvenir of your weekend in Montreal?
Why not bring
home an original work of art from the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal?
A work inspired by such renowned painters as Paul-Emile Borduas or Jean Paul
Riopelle--and created by you.
The diverse collection of Canadian and international artists makes a trip to
the Contemporary Art Museum worthwhile any day of the week (except Monday).
But on Sunday, the museum also opens its atelier to the public, providing
the theme, inspiration, and materials for a pleasant hour of artistic
creativity, along side Montrealers of all ages. On June 3 the workshop is
Twist, based on the exhibit Body Building, in which the techniques of
drawing contorted bodies are explored.
The Musée d'art contemporain
(www.macm.org) is located at "Place des Arts"
on the green Angrignon/Honoré-Beaugrand Metro line.
Admission is $6 for adults. No additional charge for workshops.
