A Taste
of Montreal

  AGM 2001:
A Taste of Montreal

Bienvenue à Montréal!

Where else can you find a circus school, the pickled heart of a saint, and more feral cats per capita than anywhere else on the continent?

And that's only the beginning...

Montreal is a city of contradictions: subtle and sophisticated, yet as down-to-earth as a bag of take-out poutine. Exhilarating, exasperating, and full of surprises, this city of many faces is never dull.

What's not to love? Listen up while the Quebec members of PWAC share what makes Montreal a city with soul.

FAQ on A Taste of Montreal

Q. How much am I gonna get paid fer this?
A. You must be joking. You get paid in glory!

Q. What if I can't think of anything original?
A. That never stopped [insert name of famous writer you dislike].

Q. My thoughts are exceptionally magnificent, and can hardly be boiled down to a scant 150 words. What shall I do?
A. Stop eating bran. It has a bad effect on your writing.

Q. But I'm so busy! I have a brochure to prepare, a terrorist communiqué to draft, I'm proofreading the galleys of my second novel, plus the dog needs to be wormed. You think I've got time to spare?
A. Good for you: punchy and full of personality, in only 37 words! Hardly took any time at all, did it?

Q. When would you like to receive my humble submission?
A. Whenever the hell you get it done. Yesterday would be nice, but tomorrow will do. Failing that, in the fullness of time. This website will be off life support in November. Please plan accordingly.

Q. Can I go home?
A. Yes! Because you're going to work on your submission to "A Taste of Montreal." Right?

To anyone who has read this far, thank you for your time. I dearly hope you'll think about what you might want an outsider to know about our fair city, then massage your reflections into the shape of something we can use on the website. Muchas gracias in advance.

Gotta go -- I've a couple of ideas that need coaxing up out of the cellar. See ya later.

Cheers,
Joanne Carnegie
