Program Developments

Work has begun on a DRAFT on The Hague Agenda for Peace and Justice
for the 21st Century, this draft will be available for discussion by
the end of this year.

A faith based focus group has formed. This will be coordinated by
Kathleen L. Uhler, Codirector of Franciscans International and Mark
Mancao of Union Theological Seminary. Contact information is
available from the New York office.

Dr. Tom Stonier, who helped establish the Peace Studies major at
Manhattan College in New York and the School of Peace Studies at the
University of Bradford in the UK, has written a book tentatively
entitled, "The Hidden Evolution of Peace" which will be published in
time for the Conference in May.

Dr. Betty Reardon of Teacher's College, Columbia University will be
coordinating the Peace Education focus group in conjunction with
Philip Thomas of the International School in Geneva, Switzerland.
This focus group will be holding a preparatory conference in Geneva
from November 2629.
